What is Ulcerative Colitis?
Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a form of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) (not to be confused with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)) the other being Crohn's Disease. Ulcerative Colitis is a disease of the colon (large intestine), that includes characteristic ulcers, or open sores. Symptoms of the disease include abdominal pain, cramps, bloody diarrhoea with mucus, tiredness, fatigue, weight loss, anaemia, fever, dehydration, tenesmus, nausea and a general feeling of being unwell.

What is Depression?
Depression is a mental disorder characterised by a pervasive and persistent low mood that is accompanied by low self-esteem and by a loss of interest or pleasure in normally enjoyable activities. Major depression significantly affects a person's family and personal relationships, work or school life, sleeping and eating habits, and general health. A depressed person may report multiple physical symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, or digestive problems.
